About Course
Hi! You’ve filmed some great videos – now what? The next step is to take it out of your phone, onto your computer and to piece it all together and make it ready for publishing!
In this course I’ll share with how the fundamentals of video editing using Microsoft’s Clipchamp software. These include “top ‘n’ tail” , an intro into graphics and text overlays and a bit of music usage too. I couldn’t create a course on every single editing software out there so the idea here is that you take these concepts done with ClipChamp – namely because its free and comes with Windows 10 + 11 as standard and it’s available on Mac (which I think is quite remarkable tbh) and apply them to a video editor of your choice. If this does the job then super, stick with it.
If ClipChamp isn’t for you, thats ok. Maybe you’ve heard of others like CapCut, iMovie, Filmora, Davinci Resolve etc etc and it’s entirely up to you which software to go with if you dont want to or get along with ClipChamp for whatever reason. It’s very much a “down to you” thing here and there’s no one perfect solution for everyone. Personally, my tool of choice is Adobe Premiere Pro which is a monthly chargable which works for me but may not be the right thing for a beginner.
There are LOADS of editing softwares that range from free to paid for and the training here can be applied to whatever you decide to go for. Different hotkeys etc of course but the ideas and concepts transfer over fine. This article reviews 9 such options for you to take a look at – https://www.creativebloq.com/buying-guides/best-free-video-editing-software .
Regardless of which software you ultimately go for you’ll be off to a great start with this course fresh in your mind!
I look forward to seeing your results!
Luke
